Solving Technical Challenges to Drive Efficiency and Quality
Shanghai Coshine Software Co., Ltd. (Coshine) has partnered with WeChat Pay Hong Kong—a Tencent-owned digital wallet—to provide end-to-end technical support for its credit card acquiring system.
Coshine focused on two core areas: card binding and payment authentication—enhancing both user experience and security. Through its proprietary “EastPay” card acquiring platform, Coshine enabled WeChat Pay HK to rapidly integrate with local acquirers and global card networks. The solution delivers a faster, smoother online payment flow and includes built-in support for advanced authentication protocols like 3D Secure (3DS) 2.0, allowing the e-wallet to manage the full lifecycle of card-based payments more effectively.
As part of this collaboration, Coshine now processes real-time transactions for WeChat Pay HK across UnionPay, Visa, and Mastercard. This has significantly reduced the time and cost of connecting to local acquiring banks, while improving payment stability, security, and user convenience.
Zhou Jie, Project Director at Coshine, commented:
“We’re proud to work alongside WeChat Pay HK to bring new technological energy to Hong Kong’s card payment ecosystem. Our integrated 3DS and authorization solution not only expands technical flexibility but also enables precise control over transaction costs—supporting higher-quality, sustainable growth for the platform.”
Strengthening Ties to Shape the Future of Payments in Asia-Pacific
WeChat Pay HK is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tencent and holds a Stored Value Facility (SVF) license from the Hong Kong Monetary Authority. It has long served millions of Hong Kong users with secure, convenient mobile payments across everyday retail, cross-border remittances, utility bill payments, and more—making it one of the region’s leading digital wallets.
Coshine is a global payment technology provider with full-scheme processing capabilities across all major card networks—including UnionPay, Visa, Mastercard, JCB, American Express, and Discover. It offers unified, cross-border payment processing and clearing solutions that work seamlessly across regions and schemes.
Looking ahead, the two companies plan to deepen collaboration in multi-network acquiring, cross-border payment innovation, and localized service enhancements. Their shared goal is to drive greater interoperability and technological advancement across Hong Kong and the broader Asia-Pacific payments landscape—delivering richer, more reliable experiences for users and helping build an open, inclusive, and efficient cross-border payment ecosystem.
